Steve Saltzman
Steve grew up on a farm in southwest Iowa, where he started a mobile DJ business in high school. After earning an Electrical Engineering degree from Iowa State, he briefly worked for a small nanotech company, then pursued the DJ business full-time from 2007-2016. In 2016 he took over operating responsibilities of his family's farm.
In his free time Steve enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including cycling, hiking, and canoeing. He likes building and fixing anything and everything.
What Steve loves about Melissa: "She is always supportive and actively tries to be helpful in any way she can. She is consistently kind and easygoing, and willing to find humor in everyday life. "
Melissa McGinnis
Melissa grew up on a farm near Grand Island, Nebraska. She graduated from Doane and worked as a residence hall director in Minnesota and then at Iowa State 2010-2015. She went back to school and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from DMU in 2018.
Melissa enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with her friends, and visiting the farm during harvest.
What Melissa loves about Steve: "He is logical yet spontaneous. He keeps me grounded each day while reminding me to have fun and enjoy what life offers. He is also great with kids and won Isla over immediately."
